WHOIS Lookup
Check a domain's registrar, dates, and status.
Data comes from RDAP (the modern WHOIS). Detail varies by registry, and many now redact registrant contact info for privacy. Some country-code TLDs don't publish RDAP.
What WHOIS tells you
A WHOIS lookup reveals a domain's registration details: which registrar manages it, when it was created, last updated, and when it expires, plus its status codes and nameservers. It's the quickest way to check if a domain is taken, see when it's up for renewal, or confirm where it's hosted.
This tool uses RDAP, the modern structured replacement for classic WHOIS. Since privacy rules (like GDPR) took effect, most registrars redact personal registrant contact details, so you'll see organizational and technical data rather than names and emails. A few country-code TLDs don't publish RDAP at all.
